SYNOPSIS |

|
Around 1915,
Anne Shirley returns to
Prince Edward Island after she resigns from
Kingsport Ladies' College and the death of Marilla
Cutherbert.
Soon after, Anne leaves to New York City with her fiancé, Gilbert Blythe who gets an internship as a physician. Anne gets a job as a editor but is hoping to get a book published. They leave NYC after a long triumph. At the same time, WWI is breaking out. Gilbert signs up for military service (a lot of pressure from his peers, not Anne) and leaves for combat as a doctor. Anne and Gilbert get married before he leaves. After Anne receives all of her letter she writes to Gilbert (he becomes missing in action) Anne (being strong minded as she is) heads off to Europe looking for her husband. She joins the Red Cross and become mixed up in a plot that involves a spy, Jack Garrison. Jack's wife dies and Anne is giving the responsibility of caring for his baby boy, trying to find Jack to take his son back, caring for Diana Berry's husband who becomes injured in combat and trying to find her husband.

VIOLENCE/GRAPHIC CONTENT/language |
|||
|
There is a great deal of violence in this movie. Most of the film is during combat in WWI. There are soldiers without arms and legs, a lot of blood and injuries and dead bodies being piled up. It is not scary like war movies today, but it does show life as a soldier and as a medical doctor from one battle zone to another. |

It is a sequel to Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. You will not be disappointed in this one. I wouldn't recommend it for kids under the age of 10, or if you child is sensitive to any type of war movies.
