The Review

Click Here Beauty and the Beast: Belle's Magical World is the third installment in what is being called more of a midquel than a sequel. The movie has four short stories that all take place while Belle is living in the castle with The Beast and his servants. All of them show the development of the relationship between Belle, The Beast and all the other inhabitants of the castle. Each story in it's own unique way tells of these relationships and learn the value of true friendship and teamwork and try to make things around the castle more bright and fun and less dark and gloomy.

    My experience with this disc was much better with my daughter than with the original film and The Enchanted Christmas. While the Beast still had his fits of rage with Belle and the other characters in the film and some violence ensues where Beast lashes out and even strikes a character or two in these shorts. It only further develops his disappointment with himself and how Belle is able to control the Beast by showing him all his wrongful doings despite their arguments. It is hard to explain to a four year old while he is yelling and screaming all the time, but in the end I think she understood why the Beast is the way he is, when I told her that he is unhappy with himself because of the bad things he did in the past and is doing now. In a way there is a life lesson to be learned from the Beast.

   The DVD has a few special features which include Disney's Sing Me A Story With Belle: "What's Inside Counts" A Song where Belle encourages children to look beyound outer appearances to discover what is truly important. Belle's Delightful Dinner Game - Help Belle plan a special dinner for Beast. The Disney Song Selection Feature, where you can select and sing your favorite songs from the film. There is also the Enchanted Environment feature where you can enjoy the sites and sounds of Belle's Enchanted Forest.

    Overall this is a cute little disc that rounds out the Beauty and the Beast films and helps you discover a more in depth look at the characters that Belle and the Beast surround themselves with and it also develops the relationship between both Belle and the Beast also. This is a great disc for kids as an Extra Christmas present or stocking stuffer. If your little ones are a fan of Beauty and the Beast, then this disc is a must have to add to their collection.
