Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus may be the same person, but they are known to kids all over the world as one of the best musical talents to come out of the Disney company in a long time. It all started out with the television series, then the music and then all the merchandise. She has become a pop culture phenomena.  Now comes the movie, a lover concert film where both Miley and Hannah will sing their top hits in front of a packed sold out crowd. However, this is not just a movie that is 100% a live concert, it takes you behind the scenes as Miley and her band practice for the show, Miley's transformation into Hanna, and the frenzy of the fans and the hard work and labor the crew endure to bring the best show possible to the fans.    I tried so hard to find something that may make the strictest of parents have a concern. I only came up with maybe three things that might concern some parents, but there nothing that are so over the top that you won't let your kids watch it.    First thing was Miley driving a gold cart and crashing into something that was in her way. I think it was a bunch of boxes or something, but no one was hurt. Second thing was more funny than anything, a bunch of grown men running in a race wearing high heels in order to win their kids tickets to the concert, and the third thing was that when Miley sings "Best of Both Worlds" at the end of the film, her skirt is short, but it's one of those shirts with the shorts underneath it. You Disney really wanted to make this DVD very kid friendly and worry free for parents. It's just that, nothing really of any big concern at all, and it is a film that is for the whole family.

OVERALL VIEWS

I personally think that Miley Cyrus and her character of Hannah Montana are great role models for our kids. Not only does the television show bring to light the many problem that kids may face and how to handle them in the most mature way possible, but the songs that Miley and Hannah sing also talk about good things as well. Sure some of them are all about having fun and some are personal. But all in all Miley always expresses good values to the kids that listen to her music and watch her show.  With all the people in the media trying to bring her down for things like not wearing her seatbelt in a scene, is just out of control and I believe they are trying to pin Miley as being just like Britney Spears an Lindsey Lohan.  Sure she is younger, but she has the smarts and a heck of a lot more talent.

I found the DVD to be very entertaining, and my one year old daughter also had a good time dancing to all the music. I really never heard a lot of Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus's songs, except for the ones on the radio. But I was very surprised by the upbeat sounds and pop-punk like inspiration that come out in her songs.  I'm talking about the punk music you hear today, I'm talking about bands like the Go-Go's and Tilt.  The songs are very upbeat and fun. It's not wonder why kids jump up and dance every time they hear one of her songs. There are also some slow songs that are personal to Miley such as one she wrote for her grandfather who passed away. We also get a special appearance by the Jonas Brothers who play a few of their songs with Hannah Montana turns back into Miley Cyrus. As a adult looking into a child's mind I was very, very surprised on how great of a show they put on. One other thing I noticed is that as both Hannah Montana and herself, Miley does not lip sing at all during any of her songs. Which makes the experience that much more real and better.

The DVD has a few special features such as the Backstage Diney feature which includes a featurette of what Miley and Jonas Brother do to get ready behind the scenes, and a feature with additional songs and a sing along with the movie feature. It also comes with four pairs of 3-D glasses and even a 2-D version of the show if your watching the DVD with more than four people, or in my case have a one year old, that would rather rip up the 3-D glasses rather than keep them on. I have to once again thank DIsney for thinking of us parents and including that 2-D DVD in there. Forget it if those glasses go missing or are eaten by the dog, at least we have the 2-D version to back us up.

Overall, if your child says he or she wants this DVD, buy for them. Especially if you can't afford the concert tickets, this is an up close and personal look at Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus live in concert with the best possible seat and with the 3-D glasses it feels like your right there in the crowd. Well worth the investment to keep your children busy and happy.
