I never would get a small dog for fear that I might get angry one day and hurt it for yapping too much or biting my ankles. I grew up around large dogs. My parents breed Labradors. I really didn’t care much for the first Beverly Hills Chihuahua. The little dogs became popular when Paris Hilton began bringing her chihuahua around in her handbag; and let’s not forget the Taco Bell dog. I never expected Beverly Hills Chihuahua to be such a hit, and now, there is a direct-to-DVD sequel.
Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2- Film Clip Papi's Chihuahua Messenger Bedtime Story
Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 starts off with Papi and Chloe having a Beverly Hills dog-style wedding. Three months later, they have a litter of puppies: four girls and a boy. Papi and Chloe are learning the hard way how to be good parents. Chloe tires to make them all act proper, while Papi wants them to get dirty and have fun. All is well, until the dogs' owners get themselves into trouble and the tiny puppies have to go on an adventure with their parents to save the day once again. I only agreed to cover this film because my soon-to-be four-year-old daughter kept asking me about it after seeing the trailer to the film while watching one of the Disney Blu-ray discs. I can’t say no to her, she has a thing for animals, and has plenty of stuffed animal dogs that she considers her favorite toys. The next morning after the disc appeared on my doorstep, we had to watch it. I have to admit the film is kind of cute, the dogs are funny, and I do enjoy George Lopez as a comedian and, as the voice of Papi, it does make the film more enjoyable. However, as an adult, it is hard to take a film like this seriously. Maybe it’s just my dislike for small dogs and snotty wealthy people, but the film started to get under my skin. However, it’s the children that enjoy these films and my daughter sat though the whole film and we even had a conversation about the movie after it was over. She really enjoyed it.
Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2- Film Clip Family Party The Blu-ray/DVD combo pack has a few features. The Blu-ray disc features Disney Enhanced High Definition Picture and Sound and the game Beverly Hills Chihuahua Challenge - where Papi guides you through an interactive game show. Both the Blu-ray and DVD include a Bloopers Reel and the Bridgit Mendler music video for the song “This Is My Paradise.” Overall Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 is a fun film that children, and maybe some adults, would enjoy. This is one of those films that I think is more of a mother/daughter film, even though the comedy of George Lopez as Papi does hold some merit. I probably should have let my wife cover this one for the site, however while this is not the kind of film for fathers like myself, I can tell you that my daughter really enjoyed it and I’m sure a lot of young kids will have fun watching this fun family film. There are some funny scenes and some really cute ones also. I say the film is suitable for ages three and up. There are a few little things that might be of concern but, it’s a film that is for the most part very family-friendly.
