Click Here Bolt (voiced by John Travolta) is one of the hottest action show on television, but it's rating are slipping with the adult audience so the producers make it bigger and better with more action scenes and dangerous stunts. To everyone on the set it's all just another day of work. But for Bolt this production is real life, as the filmmakers keep him in the dark that he's part of a television show. Bolt really thinks that he has superpowers and that his whole life is about him protecting his owner Penny (voiced by Miley Cyrus). When Bolt is caged and accidently sent to New York City. He is out in the real world for the first time. He meets up with a cat named Mittens and a hamster named Rhino. Rhino is one of Bolts number one fans, while Mittens is a street smart ally cat that helps Bolt realize that he's just a typical dog and does not have special powers. the trio will travel across the country on an adventure to help Bolt get back to Hollywood so he can save Penny, but along the way he will run into some obstacles that will test him as a real dog, and help him realize that he does not need super powers to help a friend in need. Bolt will soon learn that Penny really misses him and that she herself has been trying to find him, despite the not so friendly producer who have replaced Bolt with another dog.

Bolt is filled with a lot of action scenes, in the films opening we're treated to a high octane action scene in which Bolt and Penny are trying to rescue her father from the evil man with the green eye. There are scenes with Bolt and Penny being chased by masked villains where everything from lasers are being shot at them, to kung-fu chops that bolt uses to knock out the enemies, to car flipping over them and taking out the bad guys. The man with the green eye has razor like hands like a cat and traps penny in a claw like cage. Bolt himself is manhandled by a man in a padded suit and thrown into a crate. We soon find out that this is just from Bolt's television show, but once Bolt gets out into the real world we find out that Bolt himself really thinks he has powers, mainly because the producers of his show, let Bolt think he really does have them and that everything he does is actually real. Bolt honestly has no clue that he is even being filmed. When Bolt is misplaced and shipped out to New York City, he goes out into the real world he is greeted by a dog who sniffs his back side, like most dogs would naturally do in real life. While out in the real world he teams up with a cat named Mittens and a hamster named Rhino. Bolt still believes he has powers despite the fact that Mittens is very skeptical about them. Bolt jumps from a train only to realize he's cut himself when he see's what he refers to as red stuff coming from his injured paw. He soon starts to realize that he does not have super powers. He tries breaks Mittens to of a pound and hurts the animal controls officers in the process with an out of control fire extinguisher, they are also get's pepper sprayed by one of their own by mistake. There are also things such as Bolt trying to break though fences with his head, a sign falls onto a truck, Rhino's hamster ball takes a few beating as he uses it to hold open dogs and as defense against other animals. the movie's conclusion has a bit of a scene that involves one of the studios going on fire where Penny is trapped inside. Bolt risks his life and enters the building to save her. Inside the burning building thing fall down all around them and come close to falling on top of them. Things get a bit hairy in there, but the end turns out to be happy as always. There is no bad language in the film, but there are some small insults thrown around here and there. Rhino yells at a stuntman who is one of the green eyed man's villains in the show and tells him he is going to rip out some of his organs. Some of the films unlikeable characters say some things (and sound) very mean-spirited. Some of them lie and are very greedy as well.

Bolt is a cute movie, but it does have some violent tendencies as Bolt really does think he's an action star and tends to try and use some of his powers and techniques on other characters in the film. It's a cute film and it's a lot of fun to watch. The animation is pretty well done, and the films lead characters are voiced by John Travolta (Bolt), and Miley Cyrus (Penny). Other notable names lending their voices to the production are Malcolm McDowell, James Lipton, Susie Essman, and voice talent Mark Walton. The Blu-ray disc includes a copy of the movie on DVD as well as a digital copy of the movie. The Blu-ray features include a new exclusive animated Short called "Super Rhino Short" based on Rhino the hamster the co-star of Bolt. A behind the scenes featurette with John Travolta and Miley Cyrus about working on the movie and the song they did for the movie together. It also includes the music video for "I Though I Lost You" performed by John Travolta and Miley Cyrus. A featurette called "A New Breed of Directors: A Filmmakers" Journey which shows how first time directors Byron Howard and Chris Williams went about getting the movie made. "Creating the World of Bolt" how the filmmakers designed the movie, "Act, Speak! The Voices of Blot" where you join the cast in their voice sessions, There is also a game called "Bolt's Be-Awesome Mission" where you help Bolt defeat the green-eyed man, as well as deleted scenes and an art gallery. Bolt was rated PG for some mild action and peril, and rightfully so. I don't think that Bolt is a film that is meant for young children under the age of seven to watch. while it is an animated movie there are a lot of scene that you would see in an action film performed in this movie. It's a movie that some older children will enjoy as well are parents. It has a little bit for everyone except the younger children whom Bolt just might be a bit to much for. I think it's best suited for children ages seven and up.
