SYNOPSIS |

|
Cory in the House is actually Disney's first spin off show from their highly rated show "That's So Raven". Cory and Victor Baxter move to Washington where Victor is hired as the president of the United States personal chief. They actually both live in the White House and both develop a good relationship with the president, his family and his staff. Cory does meet some interesting people, and does make a few friends and foes as well, like the presidents annoying eight year old daughter and Meena Paoom the daughter of the ambassador of the Middle East, whom happens to be somewhat of love interest for Cory and his new best friend Newt. The show is full of a lot of fun, adventure and excitement and with Cory in charge you never know what can happen. |

For the most part the episodes on this DVD are harmless. There are your normal jokes and some little verbal insults among the characters, but nothing to crazy. There is one episode where Cory and company are either getting hit with a board of wood, both by mistake and purposely. There is also a funny episode where Cory and Newt get stuck in a ceiling because of a dysfunctional see-saw in a game room where they are taunted by the presidents daughter and her girl scout troop. There is also a scene where Cory and Newt are kind of on a date and Cory tries to get the girls to kiss him and Newt but due to a light clapper Newt uses it to his advantage to prevent the girls from kissing them. Cory also opens a kissing booth at a carnival where girls with bad breath kiss him. The forth episode deals with race relations and how people from different countries make up things about one another, and Cory finds himself trying to figure out why Meena and another ambassadors daughter from a neighboring country to Meena's don't get along and make up things about one another. Overall, and for the most part there really is nothing that can be considered violent about the shows on this DVD. Like I mentioned above there are a few thing that might be a concern but nothing to over the top. The good thing about Cory in the House is at the end of each episode it concludes with a lesson learned, which leaves the viewer with a positive outlook on certain situations.

I've seen the show on television a few times and it is very entertaining and funny. The DVD is no different and it's still the same old Cory, pulling the same old stunts and getting himself into situations that he finds himself not always able to get out of. Cory in the House is funny and at times very corny but it's a fun show for young kids mainly for kids ages seven into their pre-teen years. It has a lot of positive elements, and points outs the negative ones within it's own show. It's one good thing that Disney writers do to make sure that their programming is able to teach kids about certain issues they might deal with in life. The DVD has there episodes that were shown on The Disney Channel, plus one never before seen episode. There is also a special feature on the DVD that takes you behind the scenes of the concept behind the making of the show, and how the concept for the story started and turned into a show. Overall it's a pretty good DVD and I found the episodes to be not only funny but in some aspects they are educational in the life lesions they are teaching. It's well worth picking up on DVd if you or child are a fan of the show.
