SYNOPSIS

Set in 1978, in small in New Jersey, Gracie (the main character) has a love for soccer but of the era, not taken seriously about her talent.
Her older brother, Johnny, who is a great soccer player and who the father coaches is killed in a car accident.
Gracie wants to take her Johnny's place on the high school soccer team - being the 1st girl to play on a boy's team. It is her dream that none thinks she can accomplish. It is a long transformation on the community and her parents.

VIOLENCE/GRAPHIC CONTENT/language

Some sexual content. Gracie almost has sex with 2 different boys, but never does; no nude scenes.  No violence. Gracie does get a lot of heat from the boys who play soccer and one of boys pushes her (during tryouts) and causes a bloody noise.

OVERALL VIEWS

A great family movie. It is a feel good, hometown movie.  It is rated PG13, but I would recommend for ages 10 +. It teaches girls they can do anything if you work hard and put their minds to it.
