SYNOPSIS

Well, we all knew there was going to be a High School Musical 3 film that would highlight their senior year in High School. The whole gang is back again, Troy ( Zac Efron), Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale), Ryan (Lucas Grabeel), Tayor (Monique Coleman) and Corbin Bleu as Chad.  This time around graduation day is nearing and the Wildcats have just won their second basketball championship. Unlike the first two films, this film deals with the more serious issue of what the character will do after High School is over and everyone goes their separate ways to college and such. But besides the finals, the prom and all the stresses of being a senior.  the class decides to do one last spring musical about their hopes and fears of the future. But will their friendships and relationships with one another last as they all look towards the future and wonder if they will all still be friends once they all go off and start their lives.

VIOLENCE/GRAPHIC CONTENT/language

   Violence

Really only one little violent thing stood out in the whole film and that was at the beginning during the Basketball game Chad takes a nice elbow from an opposing player.

   Graphic Content

There really is nothing to crazy to worry about. Some of the clothes may be a tad bit reveling but nothing over the top. Sharpay is in a bathing suit like Broadway outfit that is quite revealing showing a lot of leg. Some of the male bodies in the film do run around the school in towels after their clothes are taken away by Troy and Chad as a prank. They make the young players chase them around the school, though a girls volleyball game and all over the rest of the school. As in the other movies, Troy and Gabriella have some moments together, alone.  Nothing over the top happens except for some kissing, but there is a scene in which Troy is in Gabriella's room, when it's clear that he really is not allowed to be here. They eat pizza together and share chocolate covered strawberries, where Troy feeds one to Gabriella.  The two also share a moment in Troy's tree house, just for it to be broken up by his mother. As always Sharpay is very sneaky, obnoxious and always causing trouble.  She comes up with some plans to make things go her way so she can get a scholarship to Guliard School of Performing Arts in New York.

   Language

The film has no bad language at all but I think the word moron was used once by the British girl and a few insults are thrown back in forth here and there, but that's about it.

OVERALL VIEWS

With a bigger budget and a bit more over the top production value, High School Musical 3: Senior Year is the first of the films to get a theatrical release. As you may or may not know the first two film premiered on the Disney Channel where they became big hits with many kids all over the world. The movie went on to make well over ninety one million dollars in the box office all but almost tripling it's budget, and even did very well over seas. It was deemed to be one of the most successful films of the year.

The first two films were full of great choreography and the same can be said for the third film.  Depending on your tastes or that of your children the music is also very well produced. It's not really the kind of music I'd be found listening too, but I'm sure kids will get up and dance to it. The script is nothing special, as an adult I find it to be very very childish of sorts as I know that not many high school kids act like this in real life. After all however, this is a movie that's supposed to be fun and enjoyable for kids to watch, so l'd say let it be and let them have fun with it. It is an uplifting and fun movie to watch, but it does have it's silliness and such and I don't think  many adults will really want to sit though it.

The two disc extended edition DVD has a lot of special features which only Disney can put together. There are deleted scenes with introductions from Director Kenny Ortega, Bloopers, "Night of Nights" a prom scene tell all with the cast. "It's all about the Dress" where the female cast of the crew talks about the prom dresses they wear in the movie. "Cast Goodbyes" where the cast says goodbye to the East High.  There is also a sing along feature where the whole family can sing along with the cast of the film.

Overall, its not known whether or not the series will continue into the collage years but as for now, High School Musical 3 brings the whole trilogy full circle. It's a movie that does bring to light some difficult decisions about life after High School, but it has it's fun factors that will be sure to have your kids dancing throughout the house and singing their little heads off. I say kids ages seven and up will be able to comprehend the movie, but I'm sure the younger ones will just love to dance along to the music.
