SYNOPSIS

Click Here Igor is a movie about a place that is full of gloom and misery. The name of the town is called Malaria, and it was once a sunny place, until King Malbert took over and placed a device that made everyday dark and gloomy. He did so he can teach people that evil is the way to go, and so the city is full of mad scientists who each year compete to make the best evil invention. There assistants are Igors, a breed of hunchbacks who go to Igor school to learn how to best serve the mad scientist they work for. However, the Igor in this film, would like to be an inventor instead of an assistant, but is forbidden to do so.  However in his spare time he invents wonderful little things with spare parts. His specialty is creating living things, and his two only friends named Brain (a talking brain in a jar on wheels) and Scamper a suicidal bunny who just cannot die.

When Igor's master, accidentally kills himself while inventing one of his creations, Igor sees it as a chance to take over and invent his dream project. A women Frankenstein like monster named Eva. He expects Eva to turn out to be the most evil creation in all the land, but due to an error in her programming bone, she turns out to be very loving and caring. But there is an enemy on the rise, a rival mad doctor who steels invention and claims them as his own. He will do anything to get his hands on Eva, so he can present her as his own at the next annual Evil Scientists Fair.  It's up to Igor and his friends to stop him and show the town of Malaria his true colors.

VIOLENCE/GRAPHIC CONTENT/language

If you didn't hear much about this film it's because many parents who actually did take their kids to see this film got up and walked out demanding their money back. Igor has a lot of things wrong with it and is by no means a film for children under the age of at least ten. There are a lot of things that are not suitable for children to see in this film, so much so I could not keep up with everything to list it here. You have a suicidal rabbit who is always trying to kill himself in all these different ways such as blowing himself up, and cutting off his own limbs. One of the mad scientists blows himself up, and only his arm is found. There is a sexy character in the film who has a major cleavage issue, and tries to get all the rival scientists to be with her. There is a lot of hitting and beating ensured upon anyone who is an Igor by their  masters.

the things mentioned above are just a few things that I can remember off the top of my head that stuck out as things no parents really want their kids to see. While the action and animation don't contain any blood or gore, the actions are still done in a very horrific manner that will most likely scare and confuse a young viewer. There is not really any bad language but plenty of insults are dished out between many of the movies characters.

OVERALL VIEWS

As an adult who has a thing for horror films I did find this film to be entertaining and it's Looney toon like humor was a lot of fun to watch. However this is a film that was marketed toward kids when it came out in theaters and a lot of parents where angry when they saw the actions in this film and it's content. This is a movie that is more along the lines for older kids and teens. It's a lot similar to the likes of A Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride.

Igor has an all star cast of voices that include John Cusack as Igor, Jay Leno (King Malbert), Steve Buscemi (Scamper), Sean Hayes (Brain), Molly Shannon (Eva), John Cleese (Dr. Glickenstein), (Eddie Izzard (Dr. Schadenfreude) and Jennifer Coolidge as Jaclyn.  The cast did a pretty good job at bringing their characters to life and the overall animation of the film was pretty good. It's a very well put together movie, it just is not for young children.

The DVD includes a few special features such as deleted scenes, bloopers and “Be An Igor” featurette.  It's not a bad disc, but the movie itself I can't see parents wanting to buy for their young children. Like I said above I think Igor is more of a movie for children above the age of ten. It has way to many graphic scenes and out of place content for young children to grasp and comprehend. It may also scare some little ones as well.
