VIOLENCE/GRAPHIC CONTENT/language |
There is some animated violence in the film that is honestly meant to be harmless among the characters but as we know in real life could cause some trouble. For one thing there are a few scenes where the animals hit one another. In one scene Baloo lets out this big bear like roar and Shanti punches him in the nose. There is also a scene where the movie's villain Shere Kahn grabs a large bird by the throat and strangles the bird to what seems to be it's end, but towards the end of the film we see the bird is alright. Shere Kahn also has a head from a large statue fall on him, but we see that the head is hollow and does not kill him but rather keeps him captive. On the other side of things some of the characters tell some lies to other characters, and although there is really no bad language in the movie the word "Stupid" is thrown around a time or two in the film.

OVERALL VIEWS |

I personally was not a big fan of The Jungle Book as a kid and the second film was nothing special either, I always loved the Character of Baloo because I was a fan of the television series Tales Spin when I was younger, however my one year old daughter kind of got into the movie for a good twenty minutes or so, which is very good for her, so I'm guessing that children will really like this sequel to the 1967 Disney classic. The film's characters were voiced by some of Hollywood's top talent including Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense) and John Goodman (TV's Roseanne, King Ralph), John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings) singer Phil Collins and voice talents Tony Jay, Jim Cummings and Bob Joles. The films song "I Wanna Be Like You" from the 1967 film was covered by the band Smash Mouth for Jungle Book 2 and the film did pretty good in the worldwide box office. The Jungle Book 2 is a sequel that was made thirty six years after the original film was released. It was actually a animated feature produced outside of the United States, by DisneyToons studio in Australia. This is the second time the film has been released on DVD, but this Singin Swingin Adventure is a special edition disc with many new features such as some new games like Mowgli's Story Time Adventure and Jungle Ruins Maze, Deleted Scenes and a few Music Videos with song's like "I Wanna Be Like You" Performed by Smash Mouth and W-I-L-D and Jungle Rhythm, plus many other features. All in all The Jungle Book 2 might not impress adults or teens, but I think it's more of a film for kids to sit down and enjoy and dance and sing to the music and have fun with jungle adventure.
