VIOLENCE/GRAPHIC CONTENT/language

   Violence

There is a lot of animated Sci-fi violence right from the get go. While Stitch is escaping the space station he is on, He gets into a laser gun fight with the other aliens trying to trap and/or kill him sought to speak. When he gets away on another space ship and a space battle ensues; it escalates a bit once the ships head towards Earth.

Once on Earth both Lilo and Stitch throw fits here and there when something bad happens to them or if they don't get there way. In the movie this happens a lot. Lilo bites a peer when someone calls her names, she also locks herself in her room and tells her Nani to leave her there to die. Stitch has all kinds of outbursts and destroys thing and so on. It's really just his personality, but he can be kind of mildly violent.

   Graphic Content

There is a scene in which Stitch is kidnapped by a big alien and is also dragged under the water by a big wave that almost kills her. Stitch, whom is afraid of water almost drowns. Water is a fear of his, and being on an island does not help him much. The funny thing is; is that Stitch seems to be unharmed by trucks running him over, bombs going off around him or burned by rocket engines .This does happen in the movie, but Stitch seems to walk away unharmed.

   Language

There is not really any kind of bad language in the movie; but there is the use of the world "butt". Which is described when Lilo tells hers sisters friend David that her sister thinks he has a nice one. Also the word "die" is used by Lilo as described above. Other than that you have a lot of Lilo and Stitch sticking out their tongues at each other and other characters.

OVERALL VIEWS

This is the first time I have seen Lilo & Stitch.  The closest thing I ever got to either of the character was when I was in Disney World on Stitch's wild ride where I got a nose full of nasty hot dog breath on the interactive ride. I'll never forgot that because the smell lingered in my nose all day. It was then I knew the character was a troublemaker, so when I saw the movie I knew a little bit about Stitch's personality. I have also caught bit's and pieces of the animated series on television, but never really paid much attention to it.  However, as an adult I kind of had fun with this movie. I like movies that have a lot of odd and weird looking characters and being that this movie is full of aliens, it was enjoyable.

Lilo & Stitch hit theaters in 2002, and while we have all seen films that are better animated than Lilo & Stitch, the story makes up for the lack of great graphics and such. What surprised me the most was that the budget for Lilo & Stitch was around eight million dollars. Upon my research of the film I did find out that the movie was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation/Walt Disney Animation Studios in Disney studios in Florida and was the only  film released in the 2000's by the company. It also was very successful in the box office for a film that didn't open up at number one and did great on DVD. I don't think many computer graphics where used to make the movie either. Which means it must of been one of the last Disney films to be drawn by animators. I could be wrong, but with computer animation taking over as the primary source these days, it might be one of the last.

The two-disc edition comes with many bonus features, which include deleted scenes, "Your Ohana" music video featuring the Hawaiian Chorus as wells as a video for "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" performed by A-Teens. The Story Room: An Interactive behind the scenes look at the making of Lilo & Stitch. Lilo & Stitch Island Adventure Game. A Stitch in Time: where you can follow Stitch though the Disney Years. DisneyPedia: Hawaii - The Island of Aloha: Explore the Hawaiian islands. Plus a lot more.

Overall, while I enjoyed Lilo & Stitch I don't think its a movie that I would let kids under that age of seven watch. It does have a few things that might make a kid wonder, and leave you maybe answering questions that you might not want too. There is also the attitude problems of the characters and being that many young kids tend to mimic what they see, I don't think you'll be wanting to deal with your young ones being rude to others. Lilo & Stitch is a fun film and I think kids over the age of seven, teens and adults will all enjoy this DVD.
