The Review

     There are plenty of Christmas themed Disney shows, DVD and movies. Many of them include Mickey Mouse and his friends celebrating the popular holiday, and even reenacting some of the most memorable Christmas stories such as A Christmas Carol and The Nutcracker.

   Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse is a full-length Holiday Adventure where Mickey and all of his Disney friends are snowed in at the “House of Mouse”.  Everyone from Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Winnie the Pooh, all of the Disney princesses and even Chip and Dale are snowed in after a long night of enjoying Mickey’s show. With nothing to do, and upset about the storm Donald goes on his usual tirade and everyone has to calm him down by breaking out the cookies and hot chocolate to try to get Donald back into the Christmas spirit. Minnie finally suggests digging out the old Holiday movies so that everyone can relive the memories of the past Holidays they have been a part of.

   This DVD is actually a re-release of the first direct-to-video movie spin off from the Disney Channel animated television series House of Mouse.  It features four holiday tales including The Nutcracker, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Donald On Ice and the classic 1952 story Pluto’s Christmas Tree starring Chip and Dale. The DVD also an epic finale of “The Best Christmas Of All”.  There are also some bonus features on the disc, which include the premiere episode of “House of Mouse”. There is also a Sing-Along Song feature where you can sing along to songs such as “Deck the Halls” and “Sleigh Ride”.  The last of the bonus features include The Sound of Christmas – A Disney Sound Effects Featurette.

   Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse is a DVD that features a good group of some of Disney’s classic holiday themed cartoons that are perfect to get your family into the holiday spirit this season. With a running time of a little bit over an hour, with the episodes of each story having a short running time, it’s perfect for young children who might not have the attention span to sit though a feature length movie. There are some minor little things to worry about, mainly some animated violence, but nothing to crazy.  Some of the animate violence might be a bit to much for some younger children but overall it’s not all that bad. What I personally like about this disc is all the Disney characters that are involved in it and it’s really neat to see them all together in one room interacting with one another. This DVD makes the perfect Holiday gift, and will give you and can easily start a memorable tradition with your family each holiday season.
