The Review

One of my favorite children’s shows on The Disney Channel’s Playhouse Disney time of the day is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  It is just one of the many shows my daughter likes to watch in the morning while we get ready for the day. If you are not familiar with the show, it is an educational show for young children that feature all of your favorite Disney characters such as Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto and some times even Chip and Dale and other Disney characters. The gang usually spend their days in their magical clubhouse and with the help of their flying Mickey ears machine known as Tootles, the crew solves problems, figures out puzzles and learns everything from basic math skills to letters and shapes.

Mickey’s Adventure’s in Wonderland is a full-length movie based off the popular Disney television show. The story follows Mickey and Donald as they chase a cuckoo clock bird and find themselves in Wonderland (that same Wonderland that Alice visited) by going down an underground slide. When they arrive in Wonderland they find their friends in the roles of many of the Wonderland characters. They find themselves traveling though funny and odd landscapes all while singing, dancing and problem solving with the help of Tootles.

I have always praised the show’s animation. It is truly one of the best-animated shows for children on television. Its just one of those shows that looks great on a high-definition television. The DVD has few features, which include Disney Fast play, and two interactive adventure modes. One for ages 2-3 years old, which by using your remote control, your kids can answer questions about shapes, colors and sizes all while watching the DVD. The second mode is for children ages 4-6 years of age gives the older kid’s questions that are more challenging. The DVD also includes a bonus episode called “Goofy Goes Goofy”.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is one of the better shows that Disney has to offer during their Playhouse Disney hours on The Disney Channel. Mickey’s Adventures in Wonderland is a fun DVD for kids and really expands on the success of the show and its educational experience for children. One thing that I always liked about the show is how the characters describe and use everyday household objects to solve problems. Its one feature in the show that I always noticed help my daughter be able to indentify certain objects that your average child might ignore. The show also features that very catchy Hot-Dog song performed by They Might Be Giants.  Overall, if your child’s a fan of the show this DVD is well worth the buy. It is a great DVD with a fun filled movie that still brings the educational benefits to your child as the show does.
