VIOLENCE/GRAPHIC CONTENT/language

   Violence

Disney always does a good job editing the action films they make to show as little violence as possible, even when guns are fired and fighting occurs it's done in a fashion where very little to no blood is shown, and a lot of bad things take place off screen.  Yes, There are some guns fired at moving cars with our hero's in them, and people taken at both gun and knife point. There  is also some death in the film ,but yet it's another thing that happens off screen. While in the temple, which is part of the third act, there is a lot of intense action scenes that involve some skulls and bones, as well as a cave full of traps.

   Graphic Content

There are a few things that parents should be concerned about, a lot of it has to do with some sexual content in the film, but it's nothing to over the top. Some of the female characters do wear some revealing clothing. There is also a scene in which Abigail Chase heavily kisses a man she is dating in order to help Ben figure out a secret within the Oval Office. There are also scenes that involve drinking (and acting like) alcoholic beverage.  Other than that you have a few small things here and there but nothing to crazy.

   Language

Besides a few "oh god", a few lies here and there and some dumb comments. For the most part there is no bad language in this film.  All in all the film does have a few minor things like the kidnapping of the president and avoiding and disobeying law enforcement and traffic rules, but it's all in the fun of the film.

OVERALL VIEWS

The first National Treasure film quickly become one of my favorite films to sit down and watch. It's a movie that I can watch over and over again and never get bored with it. I feel the same about the sequel, it's just as good if not equal to the first film.  In fact I'm glad they decided to make a second film, and rumor has it there will be another one in the years to come. It's an overall great action film and is a lot of fun for the whole family. The returning cast of Nicholas Cage, John Voight, Diane Kruger and Justin Bartha were perfect returning to the roles of their characters. The story was just as good and fun as the first film, and just the overall production value and excitement of the film is well worth watching the movie over and over again.

The Two-Disc special edition DVD has many great features that are well worth checking out. it includes Audio Commentary with director Jon Turteltaub and actor John Voight, Deleted Scenes, Bloopers and Outtake reels, a Secrets of a sequel featurette, some behind the scenes featurettes such as The Book of Secrets: On location, Street Stunts: Creating the London Chase, Inside the Library of Congress,  Underground Action, Cover Story: Crafting the Presidents Book, Evolution of a Golden City, and Knights of the Golden Circle.

Once again Disney gives us a great DVD product full of plenty of extras.  The Movie is also available a single disc DVD as well for people who just want to watch the film and skip the extra features. But I recommend getting yourself a copy of the 2-Disc Collectors edition. It's well worth it.
