The Review

There is one thing about Disney that brings out the imagination in every little girl’s (and even women’s) heart. That is the vast array of Disney’s princesses. The main eight are Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Mulan.  Disney will also being added to that eight in the years to come, but for now every little girl who has been exposed to the Disney universe knows of all eight.

Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams DVD features two stories that follow Princess Aurora and Princess Jasmine.

The first tale follows Princess Aurora and her responsibilities as a princess. Aurora is asked by some of the kings men to sign some letters and solve problems in the kingdom. When it becomes to much for her, one of the three good fairies lends Aurora her wand. Aurora asks that they bring a speech to her father, that he forgot while going to visit another kingdom. Aurora uses the wand to help her get though the day, but then goes a bit to far and starts using the wand to help her solve all of the kingdom’s problems as well to benefit her self. But in the end she learns that working hard to get things done is the right, and most rewarding way.

The second tale follows Princess Jasmine as she learns to deal with problems in her kingdom. Jasmine is bored helping people in the local market and such. The Sultan gives her the job of "Royal Assistant Educator" at the Royal Academy. However, the children there are not easy to handle and Jasmine gives up on educating them. However, the next day a stable boy informs her that her father’s favorite horse, Sahara has escaped from the stables. Fearing for his job he asks Jasmine to help find the horse before her father finds out. Along with Carpet, Abu, and Iago she sets out on an adventure to find her father’s prize horse.

The DVD has a few features. There are two Games and Activities on the disc such as “Aurora Dress Up” where you can help Princess Aurora mix and match her wardrobe and create different outfits and such. The other feature; “Find Sahara”, you are on a magic carpet ride with Jasmine and must follow the clues to find the Sultans prize horse Sahara. There is also a music video for the song” You’ll Never Lose this Love” featuring Princess Belle and a sneak peak at the next     Disney Princess Enchanted Tales DVD. The DVD also includes a bonus disc with an exclusive sneak peak at “The Princess and The Frog” which will be in theaters later this year.

Overall, I am not one to really get into the princess stories, but I found the stories on this disc to be a pleasure to watch. They were very well written, and the original score and music makes the DVD that much more enchanting and fun. This is the perfect DVD for young girls who love their Disney princesses. It is a disc that not only has some great stories featuring some of your favorite Disney princesses, but it also teaches life lessons as well.
