SYNOPSIS

Phineas and Ferb is one Disney's channels hit cartoons. This DVD follows the step brothers on their adventures during summer vacation. They do everything from soaping up there mothers car so they can enter a race car derby to try to win a trophy. They form a rock band and end up writing a song that will become a one hit wonder, and even create a time machine, go back into the future and themselves into some trouble when they bring a T-rex back with them.  They also turn there parents back yard into a beach.  Meanwhile there pet Platypus is living a double life, his normal life at home and as a a secret agent with a mad scientist as his top rival. And as always Phineas and Ferb's sister Candace is always trying to get them into trouble but always seems to fail. It's a funny, fun packed Adventure with each episode.

VIOLENCE/GRAPHIC CONTENT/language

While watching this DVD I noticed that there are a lot of things that Phineas and Ferb do that some parents might not want their younger kids to see. There are so many little things that I noticed that some parents might say "Oh No! Your not watching something like this"   to there young kids that it would take me forever to list everything. I'm talking everything from Phineas and Ferb fighting with their sister, to under age race car driving, to a odd and weird episode involving odd Halloween costumes with floating baby doll heads. The parents of Phineas and Ferb seem to be gullible and when there sister Candace tries to rat them out for all the crazy things they do, the parents never seem to care. Speaking of Candace, she's always screaming and yelling and trying to get her brothers in trouble. Sure some of the skits are very funny, but think of Phineas and Ferb as Disney's version of Sponge Bob, Square Pants. It's a show that you'll older children will enjoy the funny and zany comical skits, and know that it's something that they in their right mind would never do. But I think that when it comes to younger children they might get the wrong idea. Some of the characters might even scare very young kids as well.

OVERALL VIEWS

Phineas and Ferb is a very over the top cartoon that can be compared to the likes of "Sponge Bob, Square Pants" and "Rocko's Modern Life" although I will admit it's not a cartoon that is also geared toward teenagers as the other two are. It still has that same wacky and odd subtext to it. Phineas and Ferb always seem to be creating the impossible in the matter of hours. It's one of those cartoons that's so out there with it's story that I can't possible recommend it for kids under the age of eight. Sure it's really funny and creative, but it's not a cartoon for the young ones.

The Phineas and Ferb DVD comes with five fun filled episodes and a few special features which include the Backstage Disney Feature which includes the original pitch by director Dan Povenmire, whom also directed hits like "The Family Guy".  There is also a games and Activities feature which includes Phineas and Ferb's Homemade Tree Shade Arcade. An exclusive arcade complete with custom made games and ingenious activates.
