Having recently reviews the Tigger movie; it seems that Disney is going on a Winnie the Pooh kick, by releasing all of Pooh and his friend’s movies on DVD this year. With Halloween just around the corner the next DVD that involves the lovable honey, eating bear is Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie. Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie is about all the members of the hundred acre woods getting together and celebrating one of their favorite holidays, Halloween. However, for one member of the woods, this is his first Halloween experience. This is Lumpy’s first Halloween, and to make things special for him, Rabbit has organized a buddy system that will help everyone in the woods visit every house and get as much tricks and treats as possible. However, Tigger warns Lumpy and Roo about the dreaded Gobloon who'll turn them into a Jaggedy Lantern if he catches them, however if you catch him first he will grant you one wish.. When Pooh’s sweet tooth gets the best of him, he eats all of Lumpy and Roo’s candy. Upset that Pooh ate all of their candy, Lumpy and Roo promise themselves that they will be brave and catch the Gobloon so that they can wish for more candy. However, when the two become separated, they both wish for something more than just candy. I watched this film DVD with my daughter who as of late has a real fear of monsters in her room at night and ghost in her closet. I though that letting her experience a film like this she will learn that everyone, even her favorite cartoon characters are scared about something, but in the end that there is nothing to fear. She really enjoyed this DVD, as did I. It was a lot of fun and it really gets your young ones into the Halloween spirit and lets them know that Halloween can be a fun filled day and not always a scary one. The DVD has some bonus features, which include games and activities such as Trick or Re-Treat, Pass the Pumpkin, Pooh,’s Boo! Bingo, and Heffalump Halloween Party Planner. The DVD-ROM features include Printable Party Invitations, Halloween food Recipes, and decorate your own Jaggedy Lantern feature. Overall, Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie is a fun film for all ages. There are a few little scares here and there and some fun filled bouncing and clowning around, but overall it is a film that I think kids over the age of two will enjoy. It is the perfect Halloween movie for kids. The disc also comes with a plush Pooh dressed as Tigger.
