There are not many movies that as a parent, you feel perfectly comfortable with letting your child see without looking it over first. Even with many of today’s family films there are always questions that will be asked by your young ones that you may not want to answer. Usually with every animated film I watch with my daughters at least one question is raised about something in the film that pertains to a social issue or violence. Winnie the Pooh is not one of those films. It is one that you can sit back and relax while your kids just have fun watching it. This is the first film that my four year old sat through in theaters. When the Blu-ray disc arrived at my house; both my daughters for the first time in their lives sat quietly next to one another in their little chairs in front of the television and watched all sixty three minutes without a peep or movement out of them. Needless to say, Winnie the Pooh is one of those rare family films that are safe for all ages to watch.

Winnie the Pooh starts off with poor Eeyore losing his tail as always. In an attempt to help Eeyore find his tale; Owl gets the whole gang of the Hundred Acres Woods together; Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga and Roo. Whoever finds Eeyore’s tale will get a jar of honey as a prize. However, in their hunt they request the help of their good friend Christopher Robin, however they fear that something called the “Backsoon” has taken him away, as it is noted on the door to Christopher Robins house.  The whole gang takes an adventure through The Hundred Acres Woods in attempt to find Eeyores tail and rescue Christopher Robin.

The Winnie the Pooh Blu-ray and DVD combo pack has a few features which include five deleted scenes with Director’s introductions, “The Ballard of Nessie” Theatrical Short, “Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Pooh’s Balloon Short. Exclusive features on the Blu-ray Disc include Winnie the Pooh and his Story Too, as well as a sing along with the movie feature.

Winnie the Pooh is the perfect family film for kids of all ages. I really enjoyed watching this film with my girls. It has all the greatness of the classic Winnie the Pooh stories we watched as kids and is here for a whole new generation to experience. This is the perfect Blu-ray combo pack to watch together as a family or buy as gift. I highly recommend it.
